12 projects inked between Jiading, Chuxiong

An investment promotion conference for Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province was held in Shanghai's Jiading district on Aug 3.

Ten counties including Yaoan, Mouding, and Shuangbai of Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture and Chuxiong high-tech zone signed agreements with Jiading Industrial Zone, Shanghai Civil Engineering Co, and Jiading-located supply chain management and agriculture companies, respectively, for 12 construction projects.

The construction projects include an intelligent agricultural industrial demonstration park, an aquaculture base, a special fruit and vegetable planting demonstration park, and a zero-carbon park.

According to Sun Shaoxing, director of the prefecture's investment promotion bureau, luring more businesses to the Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture will aid in local farmers' income growth and help pull them out of poverty while pursuing rural vitalization and poverty alleviation.

Jiading district has been helping Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture since 2017 when the two regions began participating in China's "paired assistance" program, and has injected strong impetus into the high-quality development of the prefecture.

To date, 56 companies in Jiading district and Shanghai have invested in Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture. During the first half of this year, seven Shanghai companies invested in nine projects in the prefecture, which has contributed to the cooperation between the two regions.
